We asked wildlife expert Peter Gros to choose a few of his favorite clips from the first four seasons of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on Animal Planet.

MEERKATS UNMASKED

"Simon King is allowed for the first time get within just a few feet of the entire family. It's amazing to me how these typically very nervous animals built a trust with Simon as he filmed them closer than ever before. He's the first photographer to truly capture the personalities of the meerkat family."

CHEETAH: RACE AGAINST TIME

"This the running sequence where you truly see cheetahs at their best. To experience cheetahs running at 70 miles an hour and captured in slow motion is truly a magical moment. It was a thrill to me to see the first ever cheetah filming with a heat sensitive camera recording their body temperatures up to 105 degrees, at which point they must cool off."

RUMBLE IN THE RIVER

"This is a magical moment because we hear so much about the jaws and menacing teeth of these powerful crocodiles. Through spectacular photography, we get a glimpse of their gentle side as their babies hatch out of their eggs and are carefully lifted to the water's edge, where the parents defend them from other predators with their lives."

SEA OF SNAKES

"Having dived with sea snakes in the Great Barrier Reef of Australia, it was especially thrilling for me to watch Dr. Fry grabbing a handful of highly venomous sea snakes underwater to take to his lab for venom studies. This show truly depicts how well indigenous people can get along with wildlife."
